Thrilled that my painting ‘Hold the Open Heart’ was selected as a Finalist, from 1,356 entries at the international online ‘Art in Isolation’ Exhibition. A special painting at this crazy time.
Heading out for my run, with the sounds of the pounding sea. Mouthwatering smell of freshly baked bread across the town as more places open. Sadly, not for me.
Final assignment submitted for the MOMA, ‘In the Studio, Post War Abstract Paintings’ course. A couple of the Abstract Expressionist artists I want to follow up on that were on the fringe of those whose techniques and works I studied.
Definitely plan to try a larger work as soon as I can sort the rebuilding of my website. The migration to the new platform time-consuming and not a little frustrating. However, I’m enjoying the stories within the paintings.
Successfully cooking fish not high on my skills list. Hake, with tomato and green olives, bland and textureless. Fortunately, when combined with spinach, chorizo, and a Parmesan cream sauce as a fish pie (caulimash topping), much improved. The paella the best of the fish dishes.
Fabulous ride through the Gouna Pass Forest. Only a bit of blood! Spoilt we are.
With my blood sugars still trampolining around, wine still not an option. That said, with slow cooked oxtail on the menu, a compulsory glass-or two-for medicinal purposes.
Keto-tiramisu (gnom-gnom recipe) definitely morish. Despite the zabaglione heading towards the scrambled-egg side, combined with the mascarpone and a dash of Chardonnay it worked a treat. The toasted almond flour base, with espresso. Flavourful crunch.
