‘Cheetah Cubs‘

Acrylic on canvas 70cmx70cm

An unusual mix of Naples Green Yellow, Yellow Ocher, And Raw Sienna for the fur. With a touch of Magenta for the ‘dirty’ spots. A continuous process of rubbing out detail, except for the one eye, giving the composition focus. Now for the larger canvas!

Strange to have the Studio open again. The revamped website operational. Responsive. Clean. Functional. With beautiful images.
Covid wrecking havoc on our tourist town. Our boutique chocolatier, closed. As have the galleries alongside me. The speciality coffee roster, a worry. Restaurants and boutique hotels, silent. Horrible.

The homeless, and ‘professional’ beggars, increasingly desperate.

The Forest. A haven. Walks under the canopy of trees, squeezing oxygen, breathing life. Having endured its own hell, of drought and fire. Children’s laughter, in the silence, echoed by barking baboons and dogs.

Sunrises and sunsets. Glorious.

Slow cooked (5 hours), beef short-rib on the Kamado Jan. Based on the recipe from Gordon Ramsey, with David Higgs inspired, clean flavours. Course cut tomatoes and red-peppers, rather than the tomato paste of the recipe. However, it was the historical stock mixtures from the freezer that gave depth to the scrumptiousness. That hint of orange in the deliciousness.
