Acrylic on canvas 150cmx150cm

Suddenly. It’s done. Gentle. Powerful. Alive.

Ear of the cheetah cub needed sorting. Fortunately, it’s a matter of painting it out and starting again. A tad too much detail, for my concept of sketching, while on safari? Turquoise and Pink around the eye, the sparkle.

For now, my stressed calf seems to have settled. While, unbelievably chilly for this part of the world, a fabulous run to Red Bridge in the early sunlight. Knysna Lourie’s (Tauraco in the new guides), and the delicate Swee Waxbills our companions.

First time out on the water for ages.

Tapas style menu of courgette Bellini with salmon, chili and crème-fresh. Matured sirloin steak with olive oil. Caprese salad and avo with basil oil.

A year has passed. Impossible to comprehend.

In his time Jan has been an electronics, nuclear and power system engineer, a strategist, a humanitarian and an artist. A career path linked by creativity and innovative thinking. He can be found in his studio ‘Jandreart’ located at Thesen Harbour Town, Knysna.

  • Love your new name for the painting, Jan. Mazeltov for the end product! Just love the hint of an eyelash on the left cheetah cub. And the turquoise and purple? Love.
