My commissioned painting ‘Etosha’ received a Special Recognition Award for art of ‘Outstanding Quality’ at the International 10th Anniversary Exhibition. Selected from 2,249 entries and 34 countries.

While I’m thrilled to benchmark my work by an international jury, it’s nothing like seeing a child enthralled by a painting in which he is a subject. Adam, and the painting ‘Children in the rain’, which has arrived safely in Sweden.

Paella. Well, Terry’s version without rice, but spinach-noodles. Simply, scrumptious. Perhaps that touch of magical paprika from the spice world of Durban curries? That mix of India, Singapore or perhaps, heaven?

Had our first drive-by, walk-past gallery show, allowing viewers to experience the painting ‘Brothers’ safely. The gallery experience Is customised by selecting artworks from the online gallery, which are then displayed in the parking area of the studio.

Commission. Portrait, on the easel. My concept, of abstract lines, and wild marks, at odds with the gentleness of her soul. White canvas, confrontation.

In his time Jan has been an electronics, nuclear and power system engineer, a strategist, a humanitarian and an artist. A career path linked by creativity and innovative thinking. Initially trained at the Johannesburg College of Art, Jan has won numerous international awards and has exhibited nationally and internationally. He can be found in his studio ‘Jandreart’ located at Thesen Harbour Town, Knysna.
