To celebrate Bastille Day and surviving the Tour de France, Keto Gougères (cheese balls). A tad fiddly to make, but moreish!


Concept pieces looking at different aspects of Line Art to create Abstract Paintings. While much of Line Art is around the ‘flow’ of lines, without interruption and using the thickness of the line to add depth or weight to the composition. Yayoi Kusama used individual lines for her Line Art.


Translating the concept pieces into oil on canvas paintings, with my finger painting technique, a tad more challenging. White under-painting on the canvas waiting to dry.

Weather turned crazy. Gale-force winds hammering the studio, while the rain turns Prince’s coat into silk.

In his time Jan has been an electronics, nuclear and power system engineer, a strategist, a humanitarian and an artist. A career path linked by creativity and innovative thinking. Initially trained at the Johannesburg College of Art, Jan has won numerous international awards and has exhibited nationally and internationally. He can be found in his studio ‘Jandreart’ located at Thesen Harbour Town, Knysna.
