‘Fireflies’
Oil on Canvas 76cmx102cm
A grey patch too dark, which I decided to let dry before correcting as I wanted to keep the Spring colours clean. It also gives the ridges of paint created for the branches a chance to hold their shape before I trash them again.
Permanent Carmine (Classico), Van Dyk (No. 40) Rose Madder Carmine
Permanent Magenta (Daler Rowney) and Van Dyk (No. 48) Violet Rose Madder for the flowers.

The studio filled with the handy scent of the Star Jasmin on the upstairs patio
The first 18 small works of the ‘Nyathi Series’ sorted, with disheveled ostriches, zebra, elephants and warthog.
