‘Mongoose’

Acrylic on canvas 20cmx20cm

The paintings in the Nyathi Series progressing. Each small work, it’s own character.

I’m now ‘chipped’, a continuous blood sugar monitor with a new insulin treatment regime to bash me back into the green zone. Added risk of hypoglycemia (particularly on long rides) so an emergency glucose pack, and baby-steps in the introduction of the additional insulin. Quite a job keeping up with all the needles!

The first week, and my blood sugars time in the ‘green zone’ has increased from 7% to  90%.

Flooded garage, either from the hectic storms, or leaking geyser pipes. Possibly a combination! A bunch of paintings damaged, with each one having another dimension to their story. For now, it seems as thought the damage is minimal.

Started on the Kei-River Mouth inspired ’Seascape’ a 1mx1m canvas, with smudges of colour.

Terry’s scrumptious mushroom consommé.

Hamburger dinner. Inspiration from Epicurean in Lyon, France. Foie-gras burgers, without buns for us diabetic types. Prawn burger for the non-meat eaters, with a haullomi option for the non-shellfish tolerant.

Beautifully crafted. It’s not the easiest read. Like the ‘Frontier Territory’, it’s disturbing. Tragic and inspirational. ‘A Sin Of Omission’, by Marguerite Poland.
That it’s raining, is somewhat poignant.
Prince Border Collie
Prince has turned 5. Amazing that this wild-child has settled into a gentle giant, with a huge bark. Diabetic choc cake for us and a champagne bottle dog chew toy from Switzerland keeping him busy.
