An amazing painting from my time in South Sudan ‘Displaced’ heading to its new home in Switzerland. So thankful for the support, and the privilege to share my emotional adventures.

Looking to continue the Nyathi Series of small works, while my hands take a break from cutting out butterflies from recycled plastic water bottles.

First open-water swim session, a bit of a wake-up call. It’s was a 05h30 swim, so certainly early and much tougher than I was expecting. My shoulder not particularly happy either. Wobbly legs took a few km to settle on the run.

In his time Jan has been an electronics, nuclear and power system engineer, a strategist, a humanitarian and an artist. A career path linked by creativity and innovative thinking. Initially trained at the Johannesburg College of Art, Jan has won numerous international awards and has exhibited nationally and internationally. He can be found in his studio ‘Jandreart’ located at Thesen Harbour Town, Knysna.
