impressionist portrait of a woman

Her gentleness, and beauty shinning through the hardships of her life. A glimpse of what could have been. In a different world.

Based the portrait on Bertha Morisot’s work that she did on brown paper. Naples yellow, and raw sienna, with a touch of burnt umber, as an underpainting to create the paper background, allowing the Naples yellow to dry before applying the raw Sienna.

While the Kinesiology Tape has protected the Continuous Blood Sugar sensor for its two weeks active-time, I’m going crazy with the itching from the adhesive. Cohesive bandage a possible solution, while I wait for our pathetic postal system to get the band from the UK.

Not often I work on multiple paintings at the same time. Did the Naples Yellow under painting for a new work, while cutting out the 800 butterflies for the Commissioned work and adding to the Nyathi series.

Freezing water for my swim in the Estuary tidal current. Not an impressive swim and the cappuccino Terry brought us was most welcome.
