The wind, that has been howling for the past few days. Unexpected. Clouds building over ‘Bloupunt’. Storm hurtling in.

A week since the professional move by Albertina Vervoer, offloaded the house into the new apartment at ‘ Les Presoir’ in Montagu, and my paintings to the storage in Robertson.

Rainbow Glen, our sanctuary as we settled Prince into a new home. Open stairs that creak and flex. A lift. Amongst a bunch of scary noises.

The wine fridge, blue sofa and tumble drier, the first culling as we looked to simplify and eliminate the excess clutter. The living room, not quite the space we remembered. The kitchen better than expected, and even the shower room roomier, and brighter than thought. Water pressure a dream!

The beautiful gold silk carpet has a home,  after a gazillions years in obscurity, on the wall behind our bed. A few scary ladder moments, and the same for the tapestry in the Pajama Lounge.

Walks with Prince have mostly been through, and around the town. With a great stop at the Montagu Hotel and a brief stop at Blu Vine after the Old Toll Road walk. Ticks! Bunches of stinging nettles and the vertical drop down to the river a tad uncomfortable.

The Cheese Farm on the Swellendam road was our first adventure into this beautiful part of the world. Green fields, morphing into majestical mountains while we had great wine and a baked Camembert. Something that appears on most menus here.

My Repurposed Plastic Water Bottle Butterfly painting ‘Kalahari Sunflower’ was selected as a Winner of the CASA del ARTE ArtPrize 2023 and will go on Exhibition in Palma, Majorca Spain from the 16th October to 30th November.

Getting the wood for the crate not as simple here as it was in Knysna. Made a plan so I can get it off to the courier but something I will need to sort.

My ‘Reflections in the Boating Pond’ has almost been selected for the Short List (Painting and Mixed Media) for the VAO23 Exhibition!
